Join us as we launch our new season with a romp through the Broadway songbook. The singers of Schola will perform old favorites and newer gems. And YOU will get a chance to be a Schola singer, too!
Hear Part 1 of the most popular choral work of all time in a fresh, new way – in Spanish! With acclaimed soloists and orchestra at the Basilica in San Jose.
A perfect holiday outing for the whole family! Schola sings childhood favorites spanning generations, with plenty of chances to sing along. Even more joy than last year’s Tinseltown celebration!
Choir and full orchestra unite for our season’s grandest evening: Mozart’s soaring, unfinished Requiem, his final masterpiece, paired with Brahms’s radiant Geistliches Lied. Two sacred masterworks, one glorious sound you’ll feel as much as hear.
Schola joins forces with Redwood Symphony to sing the Symphony of Psalms for their Stravinsky Festival, a two-concert presentation of nine works from this transformative composer.
Featuring works of Vaughan Williams, Corigliano, Shearing, Ešenvalds, Lauridsen and others, putting to music the poetry of William Shakespeare, Rainer Maria Rilke, Sara Teasdale, Dylan Thomas, and an as yet unknown local student poet and a notable composer. We’ll offer you a world premiere from another of Schola’s Poetry to Music contests!
