In the Mood
In the 1940s, Americans relied on the joy of entertainment the likes of which the world had never seen, to buoy their spirits through adversity. Big bands. Jitterbug. Singing by Frank Sinatra and The Andrews Sisters. Dancing by Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Romance in the movie Casablanca.
We invite you to experience that magical time, when music elevated the lives of millions and kept them... in the mood!
Doors open at 6pm.
Enter the Hiller Aviation Museum — “Where Inspiration Takes Flight” — known for its vintage and cutting-edge aircraft. With hors d'oeuvres and a glass of champagne in hand, peruse the museum's exhibits to the music of the ’40s.
Have your portrait taken near a vintage aircraft. Enjoy samplings of this amazing era of showmanship.
Bid for an item or get-away in the silent auction.
Dinner and entertainment start at 7pm.
Enjoy fabulous food and local wines, and music by the Fil Lorenz Orchestra. At 8pm, help support choral excellence by making a Fund-a-Need donation to Schola Cantorum.
Conclude your evening by dancing to current musical favorites and a few dance classics.
Your presence and your participation will support Schola Cantorum's mission of connecting the Silicon Valley community with the wonders of choral music through outstanding live performances, education outreach programs, and collaborations with local artists.
