Dress in ’60s California Beach Attire, Formal, or Evening Wear
Reserve by April 14, 2018
It was the 1960s — the dawning of Aquarius and the pinnacle of the big-board surfing era. Movies with Elvis Presley, Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon captured the excitement and the color, and every teen in America wished they could be there, too. And... that music! The Beach Boys, the Four Seasons and Jan & Dean recorded countless hits featuring their sparkling harmonies and impeccable falsettos.
Now it’s your chance to create your own fresh memories of that amazing time. It’s time to feel those Good Vibrations!
At 6 pm, the doors open at Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club. Enjoy a glass of bubbly and sample hors d’oeuvres as you’re entertained by live performance of hits inspired by the surfing culture. Of course, you’ll be checking out and bidding on silent auction items.
View our collection of memorabilia and images, meet up with your friends and see how they’ve dressed for this fabulous ’60s beach party!
At 7 pm, dinner features beach-inspired entrees and fine wines. Then, at 8 pm, help to support choral excellence in the Silicon Valley by making a Fund-A-Need donation to Schola Cantorum.
Another goal of this year’s gala is to help us fund a wonderful celebration next year in honor of Gregory Wait’s final year as Music Director of Schola Cantorum!
At the end of the evening, you can keep the party going by dancing to nostalgic and current favorites.
Your presence and your participation will support Schola Cantorum’s mission of connecting the Silicon Valley community with the wonders of choral music through outstanding live performances, education outreach programs, and collaborations with local artists.
