Mesmerizing chant-inspired harmonies make this 20th-century Requiem a calming, meditative and engaging choral favorite. Stanford University Organist Dr. Robert Huw Morgan provides masterful interpretation of Duruflé’s organ-only accompaniment for a captivating performance rounded out by familiar sacred choruses by Mendelssohn, Haydn, Rachmaninoff and Górecki, and sonorous organ repertoire by J.S. Bach.
This concert is preceded by a Preludes pre-concert talk at 3:15 pm.
Please note: on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 8:00 p.m., Schola Cantorum will be guest artists at Stanford Memorial Church performing with Dr. Robert Huw Morgan, Stanford University organist.
